Help Me Make a Difference!

Be Fierce. Influence. Change the World.    ~Ashley Johns

In the spirit of making a difference in someone’s life, I’ve signed up for the Run10Feed10 10k in Chicago (September 23rd)!!!   I discovered this charity run while visiting the Feed Project Page!   What Lauren Bush has done with this company and for children rocks me to my core.   I love how much she’s making a difference.

WHAT’S THE DEAL?  When I run the 10k, I’m feeding 10 children in the Chicago area.  Each entrant is asked to raise money to feed more children and so I had to set a goal!  I set my goal at $500.  Why?  Because I knew I’d have my Fierce Fighters to back me!  I thought of all the Fierce Fighters out there who stand for not only making a difference in their own lives but in the lives of others!  Surely we will reach this goal together!!!  I would be grateful to anyone of you who chose to donate anything you are able to, to this cause.

WHY DONATE.  Because we were all children once and whatever your reason is, rocks!

HOW TO DONATE:  you may go to my homepage and click on the link to “donate” or go to my donation home page.  I will be able to see who donates by your name!  Whoever gives back and makes a donation, I promise I will:

Sharpie your names onto my arms and legs while I run the 10k for charity!

WHO’S IN.  So far, my aunt Melissa & myself!   Join us!

~If you would like to help me Fundraise for Fierce Forward, share this link/post with your friends and family and get in on the action!

~If you would like to run in your own 10k for charity race, check their site out here for locations.

Thank you all in advance for helping Make a Difference.   As with any goal, small steps create the big picture.  One person taking part in this run and another person running and one person donating and then a few more…it all Makes a Difference!

The company I work for has partnerships with many organizations. I’m fortunate enough to be given the flexibility to leave work and volunteer anywhere from 1-4 times a month. We cook for children at a local crisis center, deliver hot food to those in need, help paint, move furniture and do yard work for an elderly care facility… I know some of my peers are involved in our community in so many other ways and it great to be a part of it all!

Sent by The Athletarian. Love the work you are doing. I’m a flight attendant & save all the shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste & donate them to the homeless & women’s shelters.

  3. Cara D says:

I volunteer through my school with children and women who are less fortunate in my community.

We got involved with our church to give back to the community by carrying around “Compassion Bags” in our cars. When we see someone in need, we offer them a bag. Its filled with items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, tuna, etc…

My husband and I contribute to the community often – be it paying for kids to go to our church camp, backpacks for kids and food for the local food bank. It all comes back full circle and definitely makes our hearts happy.

Meghan, thank you so much for your support on this. Means the world to me and it’s so awesome to know that I have some fighters out there that are willing to help. xoxo Look for your name on my arm/leg during the race!

  7. Nothing thrills me more than people raising $$ for children in my own country <3
