October Intentions

Happy October! Ahh. October is a super special month as it represents all things Fall. And if you know me or are like me, Fall is my most favorite season. The crisp air, leaves turning over to hot pink and shades of orange, a warmth in the hearts of people, boots and hats and all the beautiful things that come with the season. There’s something so magical about this time of transition.

Fall really does show us the importance of letting go, taking stock and renewing ourselves. To me, like the moon’s phases and our feminine cycle (more insight on this coming up in the month!), the seasons can represent how we move through our life. This is one of my favorite times to set intention. 

I started sharing my intentions last month and it’s something I want to continue sharing as it’s at the heart of everything we do and move towards.

Intention is putting your heart and mind into where you’re headed and taking the steps to get to that place. It’s being mindful and heart full.

It’s how we create true direction in our lives.

Think of it as your compass and each month as you set new intention and live by those daily, you’re directing yourself and your life based off of where you want to go. This is the key to not aimlessly wandering, feeling lost and not sure where you’re headed.

All you have to do, is get a piece of paper (I use the page in the back of each month of my planner) and write out 3-4 (keeping it simple, short and sweet works best I’ve found) intentions that are centered around this very specific intention: how you want to feel.

When I write my intentions out, it’s always the last or first day of the month. I light a candle, turn some sweet music on, turn text notifications off and get really quiet with myself.

I think about where I’m at in an overall way in my life as well as the past month. I think of my direction and my aim (my vision, my dreams) and what blocks continue to come up for me that keep me from getting there in some way.

By asking myself what’s working and what’s not working in myself and my life, I’m able to create my intentions for the month. 

This month was all about being guided by the season of Fall. It felt really right for me. Slowing down, following my joy, going inward, relaxing into my self and my life vs pushing, cultivating time and love for myself and celebrating my life.

I’ll open my planner every day and as I have my matcha latte, I’ll read over my intentions to stay on course with my heart. Below are my 4 intentions for this month and what they mean!

1. Follow the joy. Do things that bring me joy! Ask myself, ‘What brings me real joy?’ Do that. Be that. Share that. Joy is my compass.

2. Relax into it. “Don’t seek. Don’t search. Don’t ask. Don’t knock. Don’t demand ~ RELAX ~ If you relax, it comes. If you relax, it is there. If you relax, you start vibrating with it.” Osho

3. Cultivate self lovin. Be good to myself. Graceful. Kind. Take baths, paint your nails, slow and steady, deep breaths, books, chai teas, good music, you and you. Take care. Take care. Take good care. 

4. Celebrate girl! There’s always so much to celebrate. So much to be thankful for. Count all the happies and have fun!
