Live from the inside out!
This is one of my favorite months, the month where all things Fall begin taking shape. It calls into place the need for rituals that bring peace and a sense of home all through going inward: more time in nature feeling the cool, crisp air, lighting my favorite pumpkin DW candles, reading more, breathing deeper, hearing the fall crows each morning while having coffee outside, listening to soulful music and all of these things that create a feeling within me of a seasonal going inward to contemplate the year and prepare for a new one. It’s a cycle that aligns with the season and it always brings me closer home, closer in.
I think it’s important for each of us to take this time to tilt our head back to the sky and take a deep breath, to say thank you for all that is and to bring a smile to our face for the new day of life we were given. To practice going inward so that we may come out fuller. How many of us are leading our lives, unknowingly, from the outside in? This means living our day for our job, being distracted, overwhelmed, ticking off the to-dos, running from here to there, ‘not skipping a beat’ but definitely skipping the beat of life while in that pursuit and many other feelings that leave us lifeless at the end of the day, just barely able to give anything else except our attention to a tv show that takes us to another world other than our own. This is living from the outside in. All these ‘things’ we give ourselves to on the outside of ourselves, turn around and effect us inside. This may or may not be you exactly, but I’m sure we can all identify with this from time to time. While these ‘things’ may be a requirement for our survival, I’m not saying not doing these things is the answer, but instead, how you do them.
We must create more space to harmonize our lives and in doing so, we harmonize how we feel about our life. We must come home and then take all the walls down and let our heart breathe fully and wholly. You can flip how you’re living your life by living it from the inside out. That means taking more care of your self, creating a harmony within and from there, leading your life around that. It changes everything. You can do this by creating daily rituals, new habits and new ways to find peace and joy in your life. You have to go inside if you want the inside to work. You have to go inside to work from the inside out.
- First things first, if you haven’t already, you can join the free Positivity Challenge I put on that will begin on October 16th! - Secondly, you can download October’s Vision Board (below) and set it as your iphone screensavor and desktop so that you can remember to be mindful of the intention for this month. The stack of the month is available below, gleaning all the peace and breathe vibes you’ll need to remember for this month and moving forward.
- Thirdly, you can do one thing today that will create more space within. This could be going on a walk for lunch instead of going out to lunch with everyone. It could be stopping right now and taking five deep breaths, counting to five then counting back down to one. Or you could make a phone call to someone you love, let them know you’re thinking about them and be fiercely present for them. It could be putting your need at the top of your to do list and making sure you do that today. It could mean being ok with not getting it all done today and giving yourself that freedom because you are the leader, not your list. It could be anything that feels right to you. Ask yourself what you need and you will find your answer. You already know.
With everything that is happening in our world including last night’s tragedy in Las Vegas, we must do our best to be more conscious of how we are living our lives. We have but one and this one we can do our best in. Take more time for you to be present, to go within, to breathe deeper and in that daily practice, you will find more peace. And that peace provides joy that so many of us are missing from day to day, myself included.
I hope you enjoyed considering my words above and if something resonated, I’d love to hear what did, comment below. I always appreciate hearing from you as you are who I am speaking to and who my purpose is built around. Of being of service to you. So thank you for being here. I appreciate you.
