What I’m listening to: Ziggy Marley, Love is My Religion
What I’m up to today: I trained clients in the morning, went to the Farmer’s Market to try a new sandwich with fresh home grown tomatoes, goat cheese and chicken, I’m going to run 4 miles after my food settles and then packing for my 4 day House Boat Trip in Southern Indiana. Kind of excited!
Running in the rain: It’s been either 102 degrees every day or raining and thundering! I LOVE rain. In fact, one of my most memorable runs was running while it was pouring. There’s something about it that makes you feel like you’re too cool for school that you just don’t care. It’s freeing. I highly recommend it in fact.
So enough skirting around what this post is really about: a new running skirt I discovered by ATTICA ATHLETIC.
Please note the lime green tooling beneath the navy is not shown to its true color here. Thanks to being overexposed by my Photography Skillz.
I’m wearing the Navy.
So Sarah Brasher is the founder of Attica Athletic (you all know I dig and take a big interest in small businesses, how they started up and being a part of their journey in some small or big way and vice versa). This business just became full blown in March, 2012. It all started from a small beginning. These things usually do! Sarah’s sister was running a goofy race in Florida and Sarah offered to create a skirt for her to run in. The skirt became a hit. From there, she took her background in design and ran with it.
Sarah and I had written back and forth and then I come to find out she has a (in her own words) “small clothing label called Edelweiss By Sarah. I go to this site to see what else she does (oh yes, I love fashion fashionista street style too!) and I’m blown away. Check her things out at her Edelweiss By Sarah Website.
The Fit: I got a size Large from Sarah and the waist band fits great. You can wear these low ryder style or hike them up to show a little boy short booty. Sarah informed me she is in the process of creating her skirts that have boy shorts built in.
The Look: I was drawn to the navy blue on top of lime green. It is a beautiful way to mesh two colors that complement one another so well. I adore the relaxed tutu style of the skirt.
Wear it With: A white beater tank. Done.

Oh and if you are doing a team run, Sarah will custom create a skirt of your pick of colors!
Next time you go on a run, don’t plan it, just wait for the rain to come! Grab your Attica skirt, don’t forget the boy shorts underneath and get wet! A.J.
