I first made this burger eons ago and literally SWOON AND DROOL over it every time I create this masterpiece! This is not JUST a burger, it is a burger with the works, the healthy works!
These are the ingredients you will need plus black lentils & turkey bacon of your choice.
Start with the burger and chop your spinach and add it along with black & red pepper to your lean turkey meat and create two-four patties.
In a separate pan, put 3 cups of water with 1 cup of black lentils (I got mine at Whole Foods, be sure to pre rinse them if you prefer that). Boil this and let sit until the lentils are done.
Place your patties in a preheated iron skillet (or use grill, whatever cooking method you prepare). Heat on both sides and then place in oven under Broil for 15 minutes or until done.
Cook your Turkey Bacon (I use about 3 strips per burger) and place on paper towel to let cool. Take your burgers out of the oven and let cool while you prepare the Spicy Yogurt Sauce.
Take a cup of Plain Greek Yogurt and add in Srirachi (as much as you like but be mindful as there is alot of sodium in Srirachi) and mix the two together until you get a spicy enough blend. You may also add horseradish, mustard, spices to this sauce. For me, it is perfect the way it is!
Take your black lentils, scoop them on a plate, add your Spinach Turkey Burger, then add sauce to your liking, then sliced avocado and finally, top with turkey bacon. Enjoy Fierce Fighters!!!
