We can find ourselves in the tightest of spaces sometimes. These tight spaces push, twist and confine you so that you may get the nudge you need to step back and get out before it gets too tight. But when you ignore the pushing because you convince yourself that your superpowers can save you so that you don’t have to step back, the walls close in against you until you have no choice but to pause.
Sometimes you can just have too much going on. The noise gets so loud that you can’t hear yourself think and you lose yourself in the thick of the forest, unable to see what’s actually going on. Our inboxes are flooded with a chronic influx of junk, our phones are forever speaking through notifications and our to-do lists seem endless. It’s overwhelming and it’s beyond easy to lose sight of just calling someone you love, asking them how they are today and truly listening. That’s when you know you need to step back, when the truly important things in life…you forget to uphold and nurture. If you ask me, I think we’re all overwhelmed. It seems the world’s pace keeps picking up and with it we become unraveled, yet we adjust somehow and lose ourselves in the movement.
“Sometimes a pause is necessary because in the quietest of times…that’s when we really hear.”
Today I choose to hit pause, step back into my space and find my groundedness.
How do you step back into your space and reclaim your self when life gets crazy?
